Progress From KS2

The increasing emphasis on progress from KS2 to KS3 and KS2 to KS4 makes this a particularly useful report. For example, with all schools having to set targets for the percentage of students making three levels of progress in maths and English from KS2 to KS4 this report allows you to track these targets and put in place intervention strategies where necessary. In addition, you can also track progress from KS2 to KS3 and KS4 in science!

The report is available when looking at targets, assessments, end of KS3 Levels and examination results, as well as in the Tracker Report, making it extremely versatile. For example, senior leaders can use it to help them set the school’s original targets which they can then track throughout the relevant key stage and middle managers can use it to track the progress of classes or individual students.

The graphical form of this report is especially useful, showing as it does the number of levels of progress at subject or class level, making comparisons between these very simple and straightforward.

After a set of assessments the teacher in charge of English could identify all the students making a specific number of levels of progress in that subject, compare this to their targets and then make arrangements for any necessary intervention.

A good example of how this report can be used is as follows; after a set of assessments the teacher in charge of English could identify all the students making a specific number of levels of progress in that subject, compare this to their targets and then make arrangements for any necessary intervention. Then, after the next set of assessments, they could check how successful this had been. In this way, because they can sort information quickly and accurately, they can spend their valuable time helping students achieve their targets rather than simply manipulating data!

Finally, as this report is available at both KS3 and KS4, levels of progress from KS2 can be tracked throughout Years 7 to 11, making this an incredibly useful tool.
