Passes Report

The Passes Report may, at first glance, seem rather simple compared to some of the other reports in SISRA but don't be fooled by this, it has a host of valuable features!

The default view shows, in graphical format, the percentage of A*-C equivalent grades for all the subjects in your school, both GCSE and vocational, together with the overall figure for all entries, something which is very useful as a quick comparison between different subjects and for inclusion in reports to governors etc.

This view, however, can be quickly changed to show a variety of different grades, for example A*, A*-A, A*-B, A*-G etc., by means of a simple slider, essential when comparing the performance of students across subjects at different levels.

As an example of the accuracy of these reports, when the slider is adjusted to show A* grade equivalents only, the % for Level 2 OCR National subjects is always shown as zero as the highest grade possible in these is a distinction with a points score of 55, less than the 58 points needed to be awarded an A*!

The graphs it produces are clear and easy to understand, as well as being very useful for cutting and pasting into school and departmental progress reports.

The reports can then also be filtered by gender, ethnicity, SEN etc. to get a quick visual comparison of the performances of different groups of students across all subjects.

Finally, by clicking on any subject bar, similar reports to those above can be obtained for the classes in that subject, something which can be very useful for middle managers.

In conclusion, the Passes Report is a very useful visual tool for staff at all levels. The graphs it produces are clear and easy to understand, as well as being very useful for cutting and pasting into school and departmental progress reports. They can also suggest areas for more detailed investigation using the other reports available in SISRA!
