Assessment Tracker

The Assessment Tracker is the latest addition to the reports available on SISRA and is incredibly useful. You can upload as many sets of assessment data as you wish and then select up to four sets for publishing at any one time. These can then be compared to targets, for example, allowing you to track progress easily across a year or Key Stage and put in place appropriate intervention. For example, if your school collects assessment data every term you could upload and publish data for the autumn, spring and summer terms of Year 10 together with data for the autumn term of Year 11. Then, when you collect data for the spring term of Year 11, you can republish reports to include this and omit the data from the autumn term of Year 10 (this would not be lost but would be available for republishing at any time in the future!).


Each set of assessment data is available for detailed analysis in the Assessments report and users can quickly switch from one set of assessment data to another by means of a simple drop-down menu.

In addition, all the assessment data sets published can be viewed simultaneously in the Tracker report, and can be compared to targets, mocks or exams in the usual way.

These reports are useful to all staff. For example, SLT members can use them to track progress at whole school level, middle managers and SLT members can use them to track progress at departmental level and class teachers can use them to track the progress of their individual classes. Heads of Year or House will also find them useful for tracking the progress of their students at either group or individual level. For example, the individual student tracker report, showing up to 4 sets of assessment data, as well as targets, for a student, is particularly useful when discussing progress with the student or their parents.


This makes the analysis of the data that a school collects active rather than retrospective and can lead to significant whole school improvement.

Perhaps the most important use of the assessment tracker is that it allows staff to identify strengths and weaknesses early enough in a year or Key Stage for them to build on the former and do something about the latter in time to make a real difference. Finally, all of the assessment tracker reports are helpfully colour-coded which makes them even simpler to use!
